PAGE SIX MANNS HARBOR PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jordan and children, Eddie and Sharon, of Norfolk are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bratten. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mann and daughter Glenda have returned to their home in Norfolk after spend ing several days vacation here. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fell and sons, Billy and David, of Portsmouth joined the Manns here for the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Burgess and daughter, LevorSa, of Elizabeth City, and Mrs. Beatrice Midgett and children of Manteo were here for the week end with their father and grandfather, C. B. Midgett. Mrs. Pearl Daniels and daugh ter, Linda, Mrs. Wallace Taylor and sons, Billy and Tommy spent Wednesday in Norfolk. Mrs. E. H. Armstrong and chil dren, Linda, Bettie, Ernest and Billy, have returned to their home at Virginia Beach after visiting Mrs. W. 3. Pinner, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Twiford, Jr M and daughters have returned to Norfolk after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Preston Twiford. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ambrose and son spent last week in Wil liamsburg, Va. and Norfolk. Mrs. .Elizabeth Ambrose and daughter Katherine visited Mrs. Mattie Ward at Great Bridge, Va., last week. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Green and daughter Carol Ann of Elizabeth City were here for the week end. Miss Elma Twiford has return ed home after spending the sum mer with her sister, Mrs. Jack Craven of Hellertown, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Ormand Mann and laughter of Elizabeth City were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Huff Mann. Mr. and Mrs. Noland Ambrose and children of Elizabeth City were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Ambrose. Mr. and Mrs. Flay Kemp and daughters, Fay and Kay, visited Charlie Kemp of Gum Neck last week end. Miss Peggy Ann Taylor is home after spending the summer at Nags Head. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Tillett and daughter of Norfolk were here for the week end with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Craddock. Mrs. Guy Mann visited in Nor folk last week. Those accompanying him to Norfolk were Mrs. Sylvester Twiford, Mrs. Annie Twiford, Wilbur Cahoon and Joseph P. Noonan. WILLARD DANIELS SERVES WITH NAVY IN CALIFORNIA San Diego, Calif. (FHTNC) Willard O. Daniels, Jr., chief engineman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard O. Daniels of Wan chese, and husband of the former Miss Evelyn B. Jadrick of Oak land, Calif., assigned duty with the Mine Division 113, U. S. Naval Station, Long Beach, Calif., par ticipated in a three-day navy ca reer appraisal cortference at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. The conference, attended by 120 hand-picked senior enlisted men, was held to consider the factors which encourage or discourage re enlistments. Results of the meet ing will be used in a program aimed at retaining the skilled per sonnel required by the modern Navy. The career men who attended represented Naval commands of the Pacific Fleet, Far East, Alas- I ka and the western United States. BRIDE-ELECT HONORED Miss Mary Little Meekins, Man teo bride-elect of September 8, was honored Friday with a luncheon and miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. R. O.
